Build immunity to gentrification.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN

Gentrification is defined here as “a profit-driven racial and class reconfiguration of urban, working-class and communities of color that have suffered from a history of disinvestment and abandonment.” The process displaces vulnerable populations. Given the global rise in urbanization, development without displacement is one of the most important civil rights issues of our lifetime—people shouldn’t have to leave their communities to live, learn, work, and thrive. This Pattern includes:

  •      The Disease of Gentrification
  •      Process-Based Steps to Gentrification Immunity
  •      Outcome-Based Steps to Gentrification Immunity
