A BID (Business Improvement District) is a powerful local-level economic development tool. BIDs can go by many different names; regardless of the nomenclature, BIDs are typically:

  •      Geographically focused on commercial districts,
  •      Funded by a self-imposed tax or assessment on properties within the district,
  •      Governed by a body of people that pay the assessment, and
  •      Tasked with implementing measures to support a thriving commercial district.
