Beautiful Lighting

Make public outdoor lighting beautiful from every angle.

Lighting is viewed from many different perspectives – on the street, in an outside café, from a second story apartment, or from across the valley. Often, lighting is designed with only one view in mind: typically looking straight at a building from the outside. There are countless views, and all should be considered when positioning and aiming the lighting equipment. For instance, walking along a sidewalk next to ground-mounted uplights may be glaring. Regardless of the view position, the lighting effects should be beautiful without glare and annoyance. This Pattern includes:

  •      Beauty as a Focus
  •      Citywide
  •      Streets
  •      Façades
